Chop trees, mine ore, smelt bars and hammer them into your own sword at the anvil. Fletch a bow, tan hides into leather armour, cook what you catch. Every skill climbs from 1 to 99, and the higher levels take real dedication.
Melee or archery, and you choose what each fight trains. Start on chickens and work up to brigands, direwolves and frost wyverns. Cross the Wildlands, where other players can attack you, to reach the richest ground in the Hoarfells.
Claim a free horse at the Royal Stables, name it and ride it anywhere. Groom it and it comes to trust you; a trusting horse gallops, and the Wildlands take half the time to cross.
Five story quests told through conversations with choices, and 3 bosses with warning signs to read and phases to survive, from a giant boar to a king who would not stay buried.
Swap items face to face, stake them in duels, buy a plot of land and build it up from a tent to a manor. Stone houses come with a shopfront, so you can sell to other players while you’re away.
Friends, private messages and groups are built in. Notice boards post daily jobs and bounties, and on weekend evenings the town calls for defenders: everyone who answers shares the reward.
Yes. You can play every part of the game without paying. If a supporter option is ever added, it will only sell cosmetic extras, never gear, levels or protection.

No. Pick a name and play straight away as a guest. To keep your character and log in on other devices, add a password in Settings, then Account.
Only in the Wildlands, the band of moor between the Kingdom and the Hoarfells. The Kingdom and the Hoarfells are safe, and you can always challenge someone to a duel if you both agree.
New players keep everything until they finish the Guide’s starter task or reach level 5 in a combat skill (but never in the Wildlands). After that, your things stay where you fell for 10 minutes, and for the first 3 only you can pick them up. You wake in the nearest town, and the game shows you the way back.
In Millhaven, the capital of the Kingdom, at the head of its market square. Across the square stands Millhaven Castle, where King Aldwin holds court: a great stone keep four storeys high, with a turret at each corner and a roof walk on top. You can walk every floor, from the undercroft and the great hall with the King on his throne to the chambers, the chapel, the King’s solar and the roof.
Yes. Claim a free horse at the Royal Stables near Millhaven, name it, and ride it anywhere, the Wildlands included. Groom it and it learns to trust you; a trusting horse gallops.
At Wardbury, the King’s muster field in the Southmarch, about 5 minutes’ walk south of Millhaven (2.5 on a horse): out past Irondeep and Netherby, through Sallow Gap in the Long Edge and over the ford at Wendford, where the inn is half way, then up the Coldbrook combe and across the moor. Strike at the pells and dummies, tilt at the quintain, loose at the archery butts and spar in the ring: the yard teaches combat up to level 15, and the Master-at-Arms pays for a drill every day. Wolves, deserters and outlaws lurk close by, with scorpions, ogres, ghouls, fen lurkers and fire spirits further out. Choose Wardbury on the world map and tap Travel here to walk there by yourself.
Yes: 5 story quests with choices in the conversations, and 3 bosses you can fight alone or with up to four friends.
