Heraldmoor

Claiming your horse

The Royal Stables stand on their own grounds just north-west of Millhaven, the town where every new character starts. Talk to the Stablemaster, pick a coat (bay, chestnut, black, dapple grey, white, palomino, buckskin, dun, pinto, strawberry roan, flaxen chestnut or appaloosa) and give your horse a name. It costs nothing.

Trust and the gallop

Your horse starts out wary. Every mile you ride together, every walk on the reins and every grooming at the stables builds its trust: wary, steady, trusting, devoted. A trusting horse breaks into a gallop, so the 105-row Wildlands that take about 62 seconds to cross on foot take about 31 on an ordinary ride, and less at a gallop.

A horse that works for you

Every saddled horse carries saddlebags with 8 extra slots, or 14 with large saddlebags. Lead it on the reins, tie it up outside, send it home, or whistle and it comes to you. Horses go everywhere, the Wildlands included, but a fight always throws you from the saddle.
